Pho Dong

After a lot of aimless driving around from San Mateo, through and around Belmont, past San Carlos, and eventually ended up in Redwood City.

I was looking for something different, but decided to stick with the original idea of noodles. We stumbled upon Pho Dong, a place that Diana and I found while on the train passing through Redwood City.

Now the place was clearly pretty new. The had non folding tables and chairs. Hmm Strange. They had decorations and the walls were painted. Hmm even more weird. The menus were familiar - laminated paper. The beginning routine was familiar - starting with being greeted from across the room, showing 3 fingers for the party size, and then being directed to our table by the wave of the hand.

This is when things started to not make sense. Yes the menu was laminated paper with the usual grammatical errors, but the prices were like 2-3 dollars more per dish!! They also had other items on the menu such as eggplant, walnut prawns, etc. Furthermore, I looked further across the menu and saw a website URL! What the hell? www.phodong.com ... What Pho restaurant has a website?

A latino female took our order...WHAT? Then the food came...
